The PM wished for peace, prosperity, and joy for all, emphasizing the spirit of harmony and compassion embodied by Christmas. In his message, PM Modi also reflected on the noble teachings of Jesus Christ.

"Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas! May this festive season bring joy, peace, and prosperity to all. Let's celebrate the spirit of harmony and compassion that Christmas symbolizes and work towards a world where everyone is happy and healthy. We also recall the noble teachings of Lord Christ," expressed PM Modi in his Christmas message.

People nationwide marked Christmas eve with mass midnight prayers held in various states. Churches adorned with dazzling lights created a festive ambiance, and in Madhya Pradesh, the celebrations even included bursting firecrackers to usher in the winter festival. Sacred Heart Cathedral Catholic Church in Delhi and St. Francis Xavier's Cathedral in Bengaluru held midnight mass prayers, further enhancing the joyous atmosphere of Christmas.
